Yemen, Somalia or Ethiopia: Choosing a Livestock Origin

The best source country is not always the cheapest one. Compare the animals, possible quantities, transport route and final delivered price against the buyer’s actual needs.

What to check before deciding

  • Make one comparison table showing animal type, acceptable weight, head count and current evidence of availability for each origin.
  • Compare batches of similar weight and quality; otherwise a per-head price can mislead.
  • List transport, health checks, holding, documents and delivery costs for each route.
  • Ask whether the quoted supply is already checked or still needs to be collected from farms.

A common mistake

Country of origin does not guarantee a particular breed, weight, health status or delivery time.

Three simple steps

  1. Write the animal type, quantity, weight and delivery location.
  2. Check real availability, health requirements, paperwork and written costs.
  3. Do not confirm a purchase or send money without clear agreed terms.

What to do next

Give RLB one clear specification and ask for the available origin options for that same specification.

Important: import rules, routes, veterinary conditions and prices can change. Check current official requirements and a shipment-specific written quotation before payment or shipping.
